I spearheaded the learning design and project management for the ‘Introduction to Digital Health’ course, and built a Microcredential course in Articulate Rise as part of the Clinical Informatics and Digital Health Program at The University of Queensland, Australia.

Project Overview
I led the learning design for the innovative course, “Digital Health in Action,” utilizing the ADDIE framework to meet project requirements and achieve desired outcomes. The course targeted healthcare professionals enrolled in a graduate certificate program for Clinical Informatics and Digital Health. It was crafted during a four-month period in the fall of 2022 and subsequently brought to life in early 2023.
Scope and Deliverables
The project encompassed every facet of the learning design process, including a thorough needs analysis, formulation of learning objectives, development of assessments, and creation of course content. The course site was developed using Articulate Rise. The final deliverables comprised a comprehensive course profile, a fully developed Articulate Rise course site, along with all assessment tasks and marking criteria.
Collaboration and Stakeholders
Key stakeholders in the project included healthcare providers, university faculty, and university and hospital administrative staff. As the lead learning designer, I managed a needs analysis, established agendas, and formulated a project plan for successful completion. This project presented unique challenges due to the multitude of stakeholders from various organizations. I guided the team with evidence-based recommendations on pedagogical approaches, course structure, and assessments. This interdisciplinary project necessitated the rapid building of rapport and leadership in a collaborative environment to ensure timely project delivery.
Technology and Tools
During the needs analysis and design phases, I harnessed the collaborative power of Miro for brainstorming and idea capture, fostering a creative environment and efficient digital teamwork. The course construction primarily occurred within Articulate Rise, complemented by Adobe Illustrator for custom graphics. The final course was expertly exported to SCORM for seamless integration within the university’s Learning Management System (LMS).
Results and Impact
In 2023, the Digital Health in Action course marked the inception of the Clinical Informatics and Digital Health Program. Initial enrollments featured healthcare professionals from diverse hospitals and organizations, and the course garnered acclaim from course coordinators, lecturers, and students alike. The assessments I designed effectively differentiated high-performing and lower-performing students, with overall student evaluations reaching a commendable 4.5 out of 5.
